Australian Born, Rooted in Sri Lanka
Innovation with roots.
Born in Australia and rooted in Sri Lanka, Knuckles Valley brings together organic Ceylon cinnamon and traditional craftsmanship. Founded by Chartered Engineer Pradeep Walawe, the company brings Australian innovation together with practical knowledge of the land and the people who cultivate it.
Our head office in Beckenham, Western Australia, connects with our plantations and processing operations in Sri Lanka. Research, development and careful craftsmanship shape that relationship, alongside a commitment to biodiversity, local livelihoods and shared learning.
Our Sri Lankan operation holds EU organic certification for the cinnamon products and activities listed in its certificate. See our certificates for the full scope and validity dates.
Many crops. One living landscape.
At Godamuna Estate in Pitigala, southern Sri Lanka, cinnamon grows alongside black pepper, tea, coffee, kithul and jackfruit. Beekeeping adds another connection between cultivation and the surrounding natural world.
Agroforestry, composting and cinnamon-wood biochar support our approach to caring for the soil. Cinnamon leaves are used for steam-distilled oil, while processing by-products find a place in the growing cycle.

A place to learn. A reason to care.
Learning through experience.
We are developing visitor learning spaces for schools, universities, researchers and nature enthusiasts. The aim is to bring cultivation, biodiversity and conservation into a setting people can experience first-hand.
Our direction includes field learning, educational resources and research collaboration. To discuss an educational visit or research interest, contact our team about what is currently available.
People carry the story.
Plantation teams, skilled craftspeople and colleagues bring different talents to our work. Local livelihoods, opportunities for women and the sharing of practical knowledge are part of our commitment to the communities connected to our estates.
We welcome conversations about volunteering, conservation support and community participation. Our team can explain current opportunities and how your interests may connect with the work on the ground.
